Jim Price

Jim PriceIn 1993 Jim Price opened Jim Price Insurance Services, a one-person health insurance practice, to sell Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina® (BCBSNC) Health Insurance as a broker in Raleigh, North Carolina. In 2002, Jim changed the name of the company to Innovative Benefit Designs to more accurately reflect the changing focus of his business to include group insurance.

Jim Price is actively involved in the health insurance industry not only from the perspective of selling insurance, but has also been nominated and selected the past 6 consecutive years as a member of the Leading Producer Round Table. Being a member of the Triangle Association of Health Underwriters for the past 6 years, while being elected as Board Member for 3 of these, he contributed input and ideas which have helped influence the fast-paced evolving insurance market. Jim Price has also been selected by various carriers to represent Field Advisory Boards which seek insight from a broker's perspective to conduct market research and analysis on consumer trends to develop new products. He has also earned the Presidents ClubSM Producer status with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina® for over the past twelve years.

BIl Moore

Bill MooreBill came to IBD after spending sixteen years as an engineering manager at what is now Progress Energy and seven years in financial planning. In January 2004, Bill joined IBD as partner to accommodate the growing group insurance with Bill adding more expertise in ancillary and voluntary benefits.

In an effort to provide a more complete service offering to clients, Bill began developing service models based on best-in-class practices from the largest firms in the country. In 2010, Bill established IBD Voluntary Benefits as a sister company to IBD Benefits with a single focus on providing voluntary benefits. He now oversees the day-to-day operations, plan analysis, website development and client care.

Johnny Thomason

Johnny ThomasonJohnny Thomason Jr. has had an extensive career in health care benefits, including several years with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina®. He has worked in multiple divisions, including the North Carolina State Health Plan, Federal Employee Program, providing support to various companies with 250 employees or more. He has also been the recipient of several awards, three time Golden Eagle Award which is the highest sales achievement honored by the National Association of Health Underwriters.

An integral part of the IBD team, Johnny currently specializes in new business development, primarily implementing and managing employee benefits.

Jody Fortune

Jodi FortuneJody Fortune joined IBD Insurance in June of 2008 after three years with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina®. While with BCBSNC, he focused on the individual health insurance market and on finding health plans for individuals, families and Medicare participants. Jody brings this specialty to IBD, where he is the point of contact for individual, family and Medicare plans. Jody is also specialist on Inclusive Health, also known as the North Carolina Health Insurance Risk Pool and was recently recognized as a top referring agent for the plan.

Jody came to the North Carolina individual health insurance imarket after working in the group insurance market for over seven years in Massachusetts. While there he focused on tailoring benefit packages specific to each groups unique needs. This experience allows him to understand both group and individual policies and gives him a unique perspective in assisting clients in educating them of various products and options.

Cris Moffitt

Cris MoffittIn January 2010, Cris joined IBD Voluntary Benefits as VP Sales and Marketing. Cris brings over eight years of unique sales experience and energy. Since graduating from East Carolina, he has successfully started one company, become a partner in another and finally a district Manager within six months of joining AFLAC.

He brings experience from the “ground up” in all facets of voluntary benefits. He has multiple successful programs from large governmental clients as well as large and small business clients. He also brings a unique perspective as a business owner as someone who has utilized both core and voluntary benefits.

At IBD Voluntary Benefits, Cris is responsible for all facets of sales and marketing. He spends most of his time interviewing clients, overseeing the analysis and recommendations and training clients on our provided systems/processes.
